IT Governance for Albanian Universities

On June 2020, Polytechnic University of Tirana partners organized several seminars with academic staff and pilot courses with students. Representatives of the ITG4AU project in this university have been in charge of dictating this course.
Elinda Kajo Meçe, Enida Sheme, and Nelda Kote presented the main aspects of IT governance. They included a state of the art of the ITG4AU project at the beginning of the presentation. After that, they explained the difference between IT governance and IT management, the importance of IT governance, and gave a special section about the CIO, its role and responsibilities. They highlighted the importance of identify the stakeholders involved in IT governance, and included the presentation of a framework with best practices and a maturity model.
IT Governance for Albanian Universities
This project is aimed to gather a set of researchers from four universities with a wide experience in developing and deploying ITG framework models from 3 different countries (Spain, Germany and Norway) to develop, adapt and test a new ITG framework to be implemented in HEIs in Albania. Expected results of this project include a better governance model for IT in Albanian HEIs as well as an overall modernization of the governance processes for HEIs and a contribution of the cooperation between EU and Albania.
