A Erasmus+ Project belonging to Capacity Building, in the field of Higher Education

Faculty of Economy

University of Tirana, Tirana, Albania

On April 12th, 2018, the Field Monitoring Visit took place at the Faculty of Economy in the University of Tirana. Representatives of each Albanian University (Polytechnic University of Tirana (UPT), Aleksander Moisiu University of Durrës (UAMD), European University of Tirana (UET) and University of Tirana (UT)) attended the meeting, as well as the NEO+ staff.

The purpose of this meeting included monitoring the first phase of project implementation, discussing new CBHE project management rules and procedures, identifying potential problems and recommending solutions to them.

During the discussion with NEO representatives, the following interventions were:

  • Presentation of project results: activities and issues presented during the Kick-off Meeting and the Initial Training Researchers performed.
  • Monitoring of project implementation: what activities have been carried out to date and whether there were delays (if so, why).
  • Different questions and answers about management and control issues like the Partnership Agreements, the project's objectives, how the budget is managed, among others.

Following the meeting, the NEO coordinator, suggested the following recommendations:

  1. They encouraged the Albanian partners to provide a dedicated space in their faculties/universities websites for the project and link it to the IT4GAU website.
  2. Study the possibility to change the amount and features of the equipment to be acquired.

The NEO coordinator informed the attendants that a report will be sent to the project officer Inmaculada Rodríguez. This report will be transmitted to the project coordinator Carlos Juiz.

This project is aimed to gather a set of researchers from four universities with a wide experience in developing and deploying ITG framework models from 3 different countries (Spain, Germany and Norway) to develop, adapt and test a new ITG framework to be implemented in HEIs in Albania. Expected results of this project include a better governance model for IT in Albanian HEIs as well as an overall modernization of the governance processes for HEIs and a contribution of the cooperation between EU and Albania.
